Some Bikes from Last Year

Usually every year I get a batch of Bikes and I Recycle them. Some of the bikes I have now (May 26, 2010) are:

CCM Elan 3 speed a real beauty (sold)
THIS IS A 20" FRAME (51 cm)
LADY'S CCM ELAN BICYCLE.

The look of the bike is classy.
It comes with a nice metallic green painted finish and matching green metal fenders with white pin-striping, and this all original paint is in very good overall condition, showing only minor signs of being previously enjoyed.

It rides nice and smooth, the brakes and gear work great, and is in very clean and shiny condition.
The cruiser style handlebars are sweeping and makes a very comfy ride.

Super Cycle 6 speed cruiser (sold)
This Super Cycle 6 speed cruiser is clean functioning well and has fenders, rear luggage rack, kickstand and reflectors. The 22 inch (51cm) frame is good for someone about 5'7" to 6'.
The bike is smooth going and will make a good commuter or city bike.

Can't wait.

Well soon the temperature will be warming up and the city will be full of cyclists again. I can't wait to cruise around and check out the bike paths this year.
Last year I didn't get in as much biking as I wanted to but this year will be different. I want to get more out of town biking in too, the province really has improved to bike trails over the last 10 or so years.

Good Morning Montreal!

This blog has been on my mind for some time now. Well here it is.
I've been messing around with bikes in Montreal for more years than
I care to remember. It's been a blast though. I've seen the evolution
of cycling in Montreal as the bike paths along the Lachine canal and on
the St Lawrence Seaway expanded to today's ever-growing  network
that crisscrosses  the city making easier and easier to get around by bike.

Montreal grew from a city where a relatively few people biked in the
downtown section and more often in the burbs, to a place where bikes
are everywhere you look. Bikes are so popular in Montreal now that it
would be hard to fathom this city without millions of bikes.

I remember when people thought you were crazy if you took you bike
out in winter. Now many hardy souls are out there all seasons.
Mind you, if the snow removal situations gets any worse, we yet see a
decline in winter bicycling in downtown Montreal. On the other hand
if global warming keeps it's promise --who knows?
