Good Morning Montreal!

This blog has been on my mind for some time now. Well here it is.
I've been messing around with bikes in Montreal for more years than
I care to remember. It's been a blast though. I've seen the evolution
of cycling in Montreal as the bike paths along the Lachine canal and on
the St Lawrence Seaway expanded to today's ever-growing  network
that crisscrosses  the city making easier and easier to get around by bike.

Montreal grew from a city where a relatively few people biked in the
downtown section and more often in the burbs, to a place where bikes
are everywhere you look. Bikes are so popular in Montreal now that it
would be hard to fathom this city without millions of bikes.

I remember when people thought you were crazy if you took you bike
out in winter. Now many hardy souls are out there all seasons.
Mind you, if the snow removal situations gets any worse, we yet see a
decline in winter bicycling in downtown Montreal. On the other hand
if global warming keeps it's promise --who knows?
